¶ Summary
This release contains external application connections (Social Integrations)
for major providers. These allow to create a new account faster on UGX-Mods
and also to login with it.
Everyone can link their accounts with UGX-Mods in order to login with them in
the future.
Users who link their Discord Account and are on our UGX-Mods Discord Server will receive automatically their correct Discord Groups.

Connections Profile Page:
manage your connections, link and unlink your accounts.

Faster registration with social connections:
Register with Steam, Discord, Twitch, Google, Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn -
Password-less login with social connections:
After registration with an social application or after connecting one application with your existing UGX-Mods account it is possible to login with it. -
Connection with Discord will sync your Discord Groups automatically:
After connection all supported Discord roles will be assigned based on your Forum Groups. Automatically and whenever they change 👍
(it is changed usually instant - but sometimes it might take a bit depending how many users will be synced) - Many signup / registration fixes and improvements
- Some style tweaks 🙂
- Hotfix : added proper IPv6 support to the forum.
Notes about social connections and what UGX-Mods does store
:
At the moment we only ready your data to prefill the registration form. If you
already have an account and you connect one provider with your UGX-Mods
account, only the provider unique identifier is saved in order to identify you
in the future (so that you can login for example with your Twitter account) [
we don't store any application sessions or tokens! ].
We
don't write
to your account or do anything on behalf of you (like writing a tweet on
Twitter and such). -
IF
we are going to do this in the future, you have to re authenticate and agree
to this!
Certain providers also have the option that you can manually define what we
can read (and therefore use). For the registration we fetch usually the
following information: email (required to sent you the confirm email),
username, personal name, location, personal text (for signature). - During the
registration it's possible to change or clear the pre filled data.
TL;DR We can't do anything critical with your data and use it only to prefill the registration form and identify so that you can login.

- Currently only Firefox & Chrome has been heavily test.
- Internet Explorer 11 & Edge has been partially tested.
- There was no extensive testing on mobile devices yet
- We need your feedback if something isn't working on your device

- Outlook has some quirks (odd spacing around the email) - Blame the developers of it for using the Word HTML rendering engine

We await (your) community feedback now ❤️ While working on additional improvements and features, the feedback from the community will be put together into more frequent updates.
The next update (v0.6.3-donor-beta) will improve some existing code basis and also the new frontpage will be finalized.
Open Beta sooon; v0.6.3-donor.beta will be the last (planned) release before the Open Beta release will be prepared (v0.7.0-open-beta) 👍
